‘Praise God!’ – Luke 17:15-16

One of [the ten lepers], when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.

Luke 17:15-16 NLT

Key Thought

How do we respond when our cry for mercy receives our desired answer from our Master? This story is a reminder of our need to praise and thank Jesus unabashedly for his healing power, mercy, and grace. When was the last time you fell face down and praised Jesus? When was the last time you thanked him from the bottom of your heart and with your physical posture? The word used most often in the New Testament for worship means to bow (literally, to kiss the ground) in homage. When was the last time you praised and thanked the LORD with a genuine heart and a prostrate posture for all that he has done for you?

Today’s Prayer

I praise you, O God, my Abba Father, for your incredible mercy and grace. Please remove my inhibitions and my pride and help me more openly express to you my deeply felt thanks and praise through the emotions of my heart, the words that pass my lips, and the posture of my body. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
