Leaving that region, [Jesus and his disciples] traveled through Galilee. Jesus didn’t want anyone to know he was there, for he wanted to spend more time with his disciples and teach them. He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead.”
Key Thought
Jesus’ time with his disciples and on earth was short. He knew that he must invest his time wisely. He knew he must prepare his key followers for what lay ahead. He must reproduce his influence, teaching, and ministry. So he withdrew from the crowds to teach his closest and key followers, personally. We can’t be all public and no private spiritual development of leaders in our ministry or our influence ends with our death. Jesus taught us to invest in others, who in turn would invest in others, who in turn… invested in us!
Today’s Prayer
Father, give me wisdom to know best how to invest my time and in whom I should invest it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
