So the disciples went out, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God. And they cast out many demons and healed many sick people, anointing them with olive oil.
Key Thought
The disciples told the message to “everyone they met.” They didn’t try to pre-decide who would welcome the message and who wouldn’t. They spread their ministry net over a wide area, expanding Jesus’ ministry. They did many good things in the name of Jesus. We MUST learn from them. The old hymn says, “The blessed Gospel is for all, the Gospel is for all.” [1] It must be. It is not for just a select few — our friends, those we deem most likely to respond, or those with whom we feel most comfortable sharing the message. We must tell all who do not know God to turn their lives to him and find the blessings of knowing Jesus.
Today’s Prayer
Father, please forgive any latent prejudice that lingers in my heart. I never want my preconceptions to keep me from sharing your Good News with people. Use my efforts to expand your Kingdom and reach more people with your saving grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
