Key Thought
The sickening answer to Pilate’s question reverberates through time — “Crucify him!” How horrible this is! Yet as much as evil people are responsible for Jesus’ death, his death is also God’s plan. However, we should feel the emotional and spiritual agony of the Savior as people he had created now call for his death. When we feel rejected, we have to know that we can talk to Jesus and know that he hears us and cares. He has been there… all alone… abandoned, betrayed, and denied by his closest friends… hated by the religious leaders… rejected by the people he came to save.
Today’s Prayer
O Father, I sometimes feel isolated and alone, rejected and betrayed by those I trusted. However, dear God, knowing that your Son faced this type of situation and now is at your right hand to plead my case to you, I know that I am not alone and that I am never rejected at your throne of mercy and grace. In Jesus’ name, I thank you. Amen.
