What We Do

Church Purpose

Our purpose at our Bible base church is to get people to be like Christ and turn from that which is contrary to Him. We would like very much to lead others to make Christ the foundation of their lives. We would like to show Jesus as a faithful friend, a loyal companion, as someone who will stand by our side when no one else will.

As a body of Bible based Christian believers, we see our whole purpose as doing the will of God so that His Spirit might be manifested in our midst. With His hand we hope to convince others that Christ is our Lord and Savior. We want to show that if we trust in Him, He will very clearly show us that He is who He claims to be.– a Provider who can supply whatever we need whenever we need it under any and all circumstances, a Physician with no limitations in His healing power, a Counselor with infinite understanding and wisdom. We would very much like to reflect Christ in our midst as the Good Shepherd (Psalms 23 and John 10:1:18), as the one and only way to God, our Father in heaven.

Consequently, our Bible based churches goal is to get others to see the love of God and act accordingly. Undoubtedly God wants us to do His will but He wants it to be done out of love. God wants us to serve Him not because we have too but because we want too. God wants us to serve Him because we see Him as He is. He wants us to do His will because we see that doing His will is for out good. This is the purpose of our church and the platform on which it stands. We want to weld together a body of believers who love Jesus Christ so much that they want to be just like Him.

What Jesus Did

‘You’ll See Me and Then Know!’ – Mark 14:60-62

Then the high priest stood up before the others and asked Jesus, “Well, aren’t you going to answer these charges? What do you have to say for yourself?” But Jesus was silent and made no reply. Then the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”

Jesus said, “I Am. And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Mark 14:60-62 NLT

Key Thought

Jesus’ only response — and it is not a defense of himself, but a warning to those who think him an enemy — is that he is the Messiah and that he will return in power from God after they have done what they want with him. Many were convinced Jesus was evil:

  1. Those who absorbed in killing him, thinking they could get him out of the way and silenced.
  2. Those who were sure it was better that he die than the nation and people of Israel be misled and destroyed.
  3. Those in power jealousy protecting their position s and power.
  4. Those who sure, today, that Jesus was just a deluded man thinking he was the Messiah and deceiving the people.

Each group will see Jesus when he comes in glory. For those of us who long for his return, that will be a day of glorious joy. For those who opposed him and do not know him, that will be a day of unrivaled sorrow. Jesus gives us a powerful example of courage in the face of trial. He reminds us that we don’t need to prepare what we will say when we face trials, but that he will be with us and the Holy Spirit will give us the right words to say. Most of all, those who trust in Jesus as their LORD will share in his victory.

Today’s Prayer

O Father, may Jesus come soon. Until the day he returns, please use me to serve others and help them to come to believe in him. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
